Obituary

Dave Luis Jeffley was born on November 27, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas to Robert Jeffley, Sr. and Harriett Webb Jeffley. As one of five children, Dave spent a lof of his childhood growing up in Chicago, Illinois. The city was not foreign to him, as he live in. Kansas City and Houston, but he would eventually settle in the Piney Woods of East Texas. It is here that he met Kerry Jeanette McGowan, whom he would marry on February 20, 1990 and have two sons, Monta' and Morgon.

As a kid, Dave had a passion for music. He taught himself how to play the bass guitar which led to him starting his own small band. Dave's passion was not limited to music as he was also a great roller skater, and enjoyed the solitude of fishing and swimming. Dave was always interested in fixing things, he would work on anything you put in front of him. This led to a life long commitment to working on automobiles. Those closest to him knew he always had a project that occupied his free time. Dave was a hard worker, as a truck driver and traveler, he always put his heart into his work. Over his lifetime, he would meet many people and travel to many places.

Dave never met a stranger, his charisma and personality made him the man he was. His caring nature and willingness to help those in need are qualities that made him a trustworthy and reliable friend. If you ever needed help with something, he would do his best to lend a helping hand.

He was a sweet, loving, and spirited person - walking his own walk with God. He was truly one of a kind.

On December 30, 2025, Dave earned his wings and was called home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Harriett Ross-Jeffley; sisters, Aqunetta and Michelle; and his brothers Robert Jeffley, Emmitt (Buddy) Ross, Donald and Ronald Madison. He is survived by his wife, Kerry; sons, Monta' and Morgon; siblings, Robert (Bobby), Jacqie, Tedi, Muriel Guess, Shirley Grundy, and Lynn Rowe. His cousins, in-laws, a plethora of nieces and nephews, and many friends. Dave was always surrounded by love.

A memorial service for Dave Jeffley, 68, of Jefferson, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home. 
Mr. Jeffley was born November 27, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas and transitioned December 30, 2025 in Longview, Texas.

Dave was 68 years old.
