Monica Yvette Young

Monica Yvette Young was born October 2, 1964, in Jefferson, Texas to Gloria Jean Young Marshall and Vernon Mitchell both of Jefferson, Texas.  

She attended Berean Baptist Church, she graduated from Jefferson High School ,she graduated from Kilgore College and she became a professional chef at job corps. 

Monica was a very hard and amazing aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. 

In 1990 she went to Alburquerque, New Mexico where she worked as a security guard and a chef. 

In the year of 2000 Monica worked in the dietary department at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. 

Monica loved people and she loved cooking. 

Monica Young will be truly missed and always loved. 

She will reconnect with her mother, Gloria Jean Young Marshall, her grandparents: Robert Young, Sr., and Signora Carter Young, uncles Robert Jr, Melvin, George, and Willie James, her aunts: Mary Alice Hale, and Imogene Young, her nephew: Kendall Lynn Marshall, her great nephew: DeTravious Reed and cousin, James Young. 

Monica leaves to cherish her memories:

Two brothers: Timothy Young and Travis Marshall, both of Jefferson, Texas 

5 Nephews: Roelandus, Timothy Jr, Keenan, Deon, and Kqualon 

6 Nieces: Christal, Kourtney, Alexix, MaKiya, Keona, and Imani 

23 great nieces and nephews 

3 Uncles Billy (Katherine) Young, Roy (Gwen) Young, and Ernest (Gerri) Young

She will always be loved and missed in our hearts.  

Services for Monica Young, 59, of Jefferson, Texas are 12:30pm Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Lewis & Walker Funeral Home of Jefferson, Texas.

Monica was born October 2, 1964, and transitioned March 5, 2024, at Good Shepherd in Longview, Texas.

Monica was 59 years old.
